Saying Yes to Adventure

Saying Yes to Adventure

She'd have been in less of a state right now if it hadn't taken her two days to work up the courage to open it. She could still feel the way her heart rate quickened as she untied the brown craft string and gently tore at the seams of the paper. She recalled the confusion as she found herself staring at a shoebox for a pair of R.M. Williams Craftsman boots. Men's, size 10. "Peculiar...." she thought to herself as she lifted the lid of the box. Hidden under a few layers of tissue paper was a book she had never seen before. A lump formed in her throat as she inspected the cover—"Chance, Fate & Chocolate Cake: When Adventure Calls, Don't Hesitate. By Callum Buchanan." The author's name caused h

Heaven

Heaven

Her eyes never fluttered away from the dark forest. She wanted to know more, she wanted to explore, see, and touch the black soil which held secrets. But she could not. They say the devil himself resides within the dense never-ending woods of that forest. Men and Women were sacrificed for their evil deeds to the god of death over the board. Stripped of their humanity and taken to hell by the evil. She felt her body shiver, the sacrifice of a villager she once saw while young. She could not imagine the pain of the people.

Davon's Magical Services

Davon's Magical Services

she asks me, her gaze sliding to the door he’d exited through. “He is,” I tell her, though I’d seen no magic from him. Nora on the other hand, she’d given me a show; grasping the stars in her hands. The display had been breath taking, shimmering lights of far off planets danced in her palm. I’d wondered how they could be so small and she’d told me “Anything is possible with magic.” “Good,” she smiles faintly, just as Davon returns. His stride is quick as he makes her way to her, holding a flask of liquid that is oddly bright for being brown, “Take this, drink it all.”

The Divine Undertaker

The Divine Undertaker

Rumble… That was when a gigantic eye opened on the jet-black wall behind her. The pupil was encircled with green specks, and as it moved, a voice that seemed to speak from the infinite universe itself asked, "Your Eminence… Is Caleb Crawford really possessed by the Coffin of the Gods?" The world around the woman shattered as the Great Eye finished, revealing the infinite universe.

The Duke's Unwanted Wife

The Duke's Unwanted Wife

“Why indeed? It’s because something of ours is here and we have come to retrieve it. I believe it is in the hands of a mortal known as Natalia Adamantine.” “Only a fool will steal from the gods and I have not known myself to be a fool. What is it that I have stolen from you?” “The divine bird, the lost one, is in your care. It belongs to me and I want it back.” “Divine…bird?” Everyone, including the one being accused, was confused. Not many had heard of the Divine Bird but even the ones who knew what they were knew that they were nothing but a legend. But so was Nataroth and Natalia knew better. She soon realized what they were talking about.

Wren's spirit remained resolute, her determination to uncover the truth burning brighter with every passing moment. "The Divine Being, a powerful entity from a realm beyond our own, sensed the Destroyer's presence and descended upon our world to intervene." The Divine Being's form materialized, its presence both radiant and formidable. Wren felt a surge of determination, her heart filled with a deep sense of purpose. "Meeting the Dragons first, the Divine Being revealed everything to the dragons, only the Dragon king openly disagreed with the Divine being, for he had seen how great and lovely the relationship between his egg and the youngest of the Giants."

I still ask them. "Ahm, I am Ehr Marie Villanueva, a deity from Kimera." Introduce it to me. "And of course, I already know you." "We didn't look for him, he just appeared in front of us and was looking for you," Kaye explained. I wondered. "Huh why?"

I, Infinite Investment, Adored by Goddess

Right now, the first step to transcendence was to obtain the treasure on Ryan's person. "Hi, Ryan, I..." Vina was greeting Ryan with a sweet smile, but Ryan grabbed her and pulled her deeper into the forest. "What are you doing, Ryan?!" Vina was taken aback, and tried to break free, but Ryan let go. They were now deep in the forest, and Ryan was carrying a bottle of whiskey filled with poison. Vina felt a bit scared and moved back slightly.

Adam & Eve

Adam & Eve

The rain, hormones, music, and emotions were overwhelming for us both as we gave into our desires and exploded in sync. But this wasn’t about sex, we were sealing a bond. He looked at me like I was a treasure he didn’t believe he’d found. A tear appeared in his eye, as he rubbed his hands up and down my back. I felt bad. I had no idea what he had been through but he was hurting. I pulled him back in and held him. I had my face in his chest and I could hear him saying thank you God over and over. When he said it the last time, my mind immediately woke up. Thoughts of the stories my parents told me of having the extra rib of my Adam popped into my mind. It couldn’t be, that wasn’t true. We are

THE WIFE YOU LEFT

THE WIFE YOU LEFT

Her voice dropped to a hiss. “Because Blackwood found out who I truly was.” A pause. A flash of old shame. Then rage. “I am Divine. A being far older than him. I could draw life—extend mine—forever. And he hated me for it. But I was willing to make him the greatest. I already assisted in telling revelations I saw about his enemies making him win head of the table." She took a step closer to Avery, who lay defenseless, bleeding, her belly rising and falling as her baby fought with her.

Frequently Asked Questions

Okay, I'll be the dissenting voice here. I found the whole fate vs. destiny framework in 'Divine Adventure' kind of overworked. Like, every third chapter we get another prophecy or a cryptic vision from the Oracle character. After a while, it stops feeling like a profound exploration of cosmic forces and more like a narrative crutch to justify why the protagonist, Kaelen, keeps stumbling into plot-critical locations. The book wants us to believe he's wrestling with a grand, predetermined 'Divine Mandate,' but his choices are so obviously steered by the author's need to hit certain story beats that the theme of free will rings hollow.

That said, the side character Elara actually embodies the theme better. Her entire arc is about rejecting a pre-written destiny—being born into a line of seers but choosing to burn her own prophetic scrolls. Her struggle felt messy, personal, and earned. The contrast between her active defiance and Kaelen's passive acceptance of 'fate' was the most interesting part, even if the main plot kept hammering the 'chosen one' angle long after it had lost its novelty for me.
