Close, trusted and even family. Martin stood a few steps away, frozen in place. His hands were stiff at his sides, his face pale. He had served Dante for years. He had seen violence, death, and destruction. He had seen Dante ruthless, cold, and precise. But he had never seen him like this. Not when deals went bad. Not when wars broke out. But my only point is– Duncan didn’t do anything, but he ordered Leon to throw him out in the nearest orphanage just because I went outside and forgot to bring my phone with me? Miatta POV Evening came and not soon enough. I was high-strung from the sexual tension between I and Lucas. He made sure to sit apart from me, respecting my wishes but I could tell that he was walking on a tight rope. Some slaves had brought his meal and I had received the leftovers, eating juicy meat for the first time since I entered Red Bone Pack. They returned to take the dishes away and Lucas exited his big and comfortable bed, giving me room to take a long nap.
