"I don't know, Jackson. It was an anonymous tip-off. When we traced the line, it led us to Emily's phone, suspicious isn’t it?"
He pulled out a phone encased in a transparent nylon bag and slid it across the table to Jackson. Jackson picked it up, his eyes scanning the familiar device. It was Emily's phone, the same one she used to carry with her everywhere.
"This doesn't make sense," Jackson said, his voice shaking. "Emily died years ago in a fire. You know that, Officer."
Officer Thompson's expression turned grave. "Yes, true. But her body was never found, Jackson. Never found."
