I hope you don’t have a nice day, Breanne.” Emily bumped into Bree’s shoulder and rolled into the restaurant with her security guards. Bree stood in place, trying to register the words of Emily into her head. She stood frozen on the floor, her eyes staring into space, and only when she heard a throat clear down the side did she return her attention to her surroundings. She moved, her eyes falling on the security guard by her side.

Someone covered in soot and blood ran towards us, Emily broke away from the hug. “Oh my God Jora, really?” Emily asked, turning towards the spot woman she had identified as Jora, Justina’s sister. She was barely recognizable under the whole blood. Cal released the breath he was holding. I felt a strange dizziness creep through my neck, making it hard to focus. “Marco!!” Emily shouted. My body swerved forward and everything went black.

Emily raised her head in a disapproving manner. "Thank you" She smiled again and devoured her ice cream. Becca picked her phone and began to go through latest news when she saw something that shocked her. "Emily, did you know some wolves crossed the border and ate some humans?" Becca raised her brows and showed Emily the news. Emily chocked on her ice cream and quickly dropped it. She took the phone closer to her face and viewed it well. A beat of silence. “Because someone should.” The rain grew steadier, drumming against the metal railing. Emily inhaled deeply and forced herself to speak. “Alex… you can’t keep doing this.” “I know.” His voice was strained. “We can’t” Her voice cracked. “We can’t cross any lines.” Alex didn’t speak for a long moment. When he finally did, his voice was barely a whisper. “Emily… maybe the line was crossed the first day I met you.” Her heart stopped.

Lyra was quiet and careful about her place as an omega, but since I’d arrived she’d been nothing but kind. As we crept closer, faint voices carried from other hunting parties. The pack was doing well today; I could hear them celebrating their own kills somewhere through the trees. “Well, well.” The sugary voice made my stomach tighten. Emily stepped out from behind a cluster of pines, flanked by two pack members I didn’t recognize. She held a crossbow similar to Sera’s, but the way she carried it felt like more of a threat than a tool. “Emily,” Sylvester said evenly…neither lowering his bow nor pointing it at her. “Having any luck?”

After spending a long time at her grave, Justin and Zac made their way back down the mountain. On the descent, they crossed paths with Emma, who was carrying a bouquet of flowers. The unexpected encounter caught him off guard. “Justin,” she greeted softly, her voice tinged with an unspoken plea. “Mm.” He nodded coolly, showing no intention of lingering for conversation. Zac, however, couldn’t resist asking, “Do you have family buried here?” Emma smiled, her lips curving upward, but there was something unsettling in her expression. “No. I’m here to visit Emily.”

Driven by curiosity and an instinctive sense of unease, Emily edged closer to the slightly ajar door, wanting to hear what was going on inside. Her heart pounded, and she held her breath as she peered through the narrow gap. Through the crack in the door, she saw Amber almost clinging to a man. From Emily’s perspective, Amber’s dress appeared disheveled, and they were locked in an intense kiss. The sight hit Emily like a bolt of lightning, leaving her world shattered in an instant. Her heart seemed to stop, and the blood drained from her face. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Was this real? Was it Ethan?

I hear a male voice around the corner of the washroom "Let go of my arm pervert!!!" Miss Harrison screams over the blasting music but the man doesn't budge and tries to kiss her and it gets me pissed as I pull him from her letting my fist do the talking on his face, I'm brought out of my anger as I feel Miss Harrison pulling me away from the man while calling my name with that angelic voice. The stranger's face is covered with blood "don't you ever touch her again, piece of shit!" I say turning to a horrified Miss Harrison who now has tears in her eyes.

But finally, I twist the right hand free. Just then, a figure comes sprinting barefoot through the door, jumping over the fallen body of the bouncer who was shot in the shoulder. It's Emily. Her hair streams behind her like a banner as she flies across the cement. She nimbly avoids the flames and shattered glass, pausing only to grab a knife off the table. She presses it into my palm. "Cut the rope!" she cries. "It's too high for me to reach!" She's got blood running down the right side of her face. Her left hand is wrapped in a rag.
