“Finish that sentence,” I cut in coldly, my grip tightening just enough to steal his breath, “and you won’t be standing by the time the next syllable leaves your mouth.”
“You listen carefully,” I said, my voice low and lethal. “You do not call her. You do not text her. You do not look her up, talk about her, or even think about her.” I leaned in, close enough that he could hear every word over his ragged breathing. “Because the next time I hear your name anywhere near Allison Trainer’s, you won’t get a fucking warning.”
