When I glance across at Taylor I can see his eyes are bright with unshed tears; Harold might have been a shitty father but he was still Taylor’s dad so my heart breaks for his anguish. I have barely paid attention to the coffin at the front of the room piled high with an ostentatious array of flowers but as I look to where everyone’s attention is pointed, I realised that it is now moving slowly on some kind of conveyor belt towards a set of curtains as more Bach plays softly. For a moment, I wonder idly whether crematoriums have set music, a bit like elevator musak, for instances like this. Before I can even finish that thought, I am interrupted by a loud keening sound that fills the room, a

The Billionaires Heirs Series

The Billionaires Heirs Series

“Since when did you become a personal chauffeur?” He only laughed and continued walking. “What can I say?” he shrugged. We walked past rows of headstones until I finally saw Willow. As I stepped closer, I started to feel uneasy. When I watched her, I saw a big teddy bear holding a photo frame. I halted my steps as I watched Willow place the new flowers on the grave. They must come here frequently, since the grave is clean. As I looked closer, I realized who it was that died—it wasn’t just any person; it was a child. It felt like someone had knocked the air out of me as I thought about what Willow must be going through. I couldn’t imagine the pain of losing a child.

what I've read so far has been very good. Her husband is a major ass so far like all men always trusting everyone but their wife especially when she has done nothing to deserve the mistrust. and her husband knows her relationship with her twin and how bad it is and yet he believes her l.

World of Tomorrow

World of Tomorrow

Her voice was no softer than his, but still was almost lost in the hushed murmurs of the crowd along the street. From their position near the start of the procession, they could see those who would march gathering in the street. Leading the funeral procession was a single police car, its lights flashing but its siren silenced. It crawled by slowly, the uniformed officers walking alongside easily able to keep pace. Evelyn couldn’t check her tears as the second vehicle followed. The darkly draped hearse’s roof was covered in a carpet floral arrangement, in the center of which was an A-frame stand. Amid the flowers, a uniformed Detective Sosa’s photograph was displayed on each side of the frame

I've barely been able to put this story down. I absolutely love it. I love how descriptive the story is. And it has made me want to have been able to go to that World's Fair. It is a beautiful love story and I can't wait to finish it.

I am only to Chapter 22, but this book is Amazing so far and by far my favorite. I love historical fiction and this piece is a gem. I read the Author's book about Grace and Juliet and just had to jump right into this one as some characters are the same.

Sins Of Past

Sins Of Past

I never shed a tear ,not even on the day my father died. "Quick , get the car .We have to go to the hospital now"I yelled. I didn't wait for them to say anything.Pulling the sheet back up I lifted her in bridal style in my arms and made a mad dash out of the arena to the car. My general was not far behind along with the old healer.

The Death He Never Died

The Death He Never Died

"Go ahead, he's right there." Aria's eyes followed my gesture, and she erupted, her eyes bulging with fury. "Noelle, that's a hearse! It's meant for the dead. How could you put my son in there? "Have you no humanity? After all the kindness my son showed you!" Feigning confusion, I met Aria's gaze. "Mom, what are you talking about? Hearses are for the dead, and isn't your son, well, dead? I don't see the issue."

Love Fades Without a Trace

Love Fades Without a Trace

What was the point of struggling when she was already gone? Just as Aaron was about to reach the funeral parlor, he passed a hearse going in the opposite direction. The sky was almost completely bright, but there was still some time before people started getting up. It was a little odd for a hearse to be leaving at this hour. For once, he used his brain and tried to stop the hearse. However, it rammed his car aside and sped off, barely brushing past it. His car was a new one he'd driven out of the garage at Reed Tower—it cost millions of dollars. Who would dare ram into it and run off?

Stitching a Path to Vengeance: The Rise of Lucia Montess

Stitching a Path to Vengeance: The Rise of Lucia Montess

The hearse was already parked with its boots open in a way which could allow a more easy and smooth placement of the body. After the corpse was successfully placed, the hearse and Mr Thomas, together with others made their way to the crematorium which was a few minutes drive from the hospital. Mr Thomas suggested getting some ice cream to cheer everyone's mood, but no one was buying it. The atmosphere screamed sadness in the loudest way. All throughout the journey, all Jada did was hug Mr Montess death certificate and shut her eyes tight. This however didn't stop Jada from crying. She had the company of her daughter and old time friend, but it went nowhere in healing her pained heart.

From Dust to Ashes: A scorned Bride

He even tilted his head back a little and clapped once, like I’d just told the funniest joke in the world. But I didn’t laugh with him. He paused when he saw my face. “Wait… you’re serious?” “As a bullet wound,” I muttered. Bryce’s smile faded. “Grey we went to her funeral. We saw her coffin. You gave the eulogy, for crying out loud.”

The Things We Don't Say

The Things We Don't Say

I just stood there, inhaling all the smoke from their engines as they rode into JAR unhinged. No one even bothered stopping them. "What the hell are they doing?" I muttered under my breath as the last one wheezed past me. "It's a funeral for crying out loud. Haven't they heard of respecting the dead?" The taste of the smoke from their engines was still on my tongue as I stood straight, blinking away the sting from my eyes. I tweaked the collar of the only suit I owned and took a deep breath.
