Noah knelt down in front of his mother, taking her cold, shaking hands into his own warm palms. "Mom," Noah said gently, looking up into her tired eyes. "Money comes and goes. Houses can be rebuilt. But I am not losing you again. None of us are." He stood up, picked up the black master drive from the table, and looked at his three brothers. Julian’s face was dark, but he didn't raise an objection. Gabriel gave a single, quiet nod of respect. Caleb turned his back to the room, staring silently into the burning logs in the fireplace.

I distinctly heard Yelena Lipton gasp on the other end of the phone, followed by several seconds of silence. "Mom's… gone? H-How could that be? This is just too sudden! I didn't mean to be absent. I asked. " I guess not. She'll throw a fit if she sees me here." Noah says getting up. He started doing up his pants and he headed for the window and I followed him while I was putting my shirt back on. He turned back to kiss me one last time before he climbed out the window and down the drainpipe. I walked over and I opened the door and my mother slapped me across the face.

"I figured that much. She swore me to secrecy, but she told you?" "I had to tell someone!" Roni explained. Watching them as they talked about babies and marriage and their future, there was no doubt in Gio's mind Noah was not making a mistake. Abel's mom was just old school, but to Abel, she could do or say no wrong. Whatever the woman said was golden as far as he was concerned. But the one thing that would light his fuse faster than anything was saying something bad about that boy's momma. My whole body went rigid, as if my blood suddenly rushed backward. I whipped around. Noah had somehow slipped behind me without a sound and was now standing beneath a tree, his small figure warped by the shifting shadows. He tilted his head, his voice carrying a kind of innocent cruelty. "Mom, where are you going? Why aren't you taking me with you?" How was he here? I had never told anyone about this path. I spun back and tried to run, but Noah threw his head back and shouted, "Come catch my mom! She's here!"

I retorted. Noah groaned, dragging a hand down his face. He looked at mom, pouting. "You told him all that?" Mom scowled at him and I had never loved her more than I did at that moment. Noah needed to realize the hell he had just tossed us into! "You slept with his daughter! Don't you feel any fucking remorse?"

I added with enough venom in my voice that was not lost on them both. "He's in love!" Noah blurted all of a sudden and I would have choked him but that would only add to my list of other fuck ups. "There's this nerd he recently met in school, so he's trying to study so he doesn't look foolish while he's with her," he said, then stared at me challengingly. I wanted to punch him because he was so fucking petty. "Is that true because we all agreed to no girlfriend until you're done with your study? We don't want another fudging scandal" Mom emphasized, the veins on her neck straining in stress.

Everest was not one that would mind the strange gazes that she received as she waited for a response that was about to come out from the phone that was dialed. The voice which was too familiar that her calm heart had a few of palpitations because of nervousness and excitement. "Because you are my mom of course." Noah coldly responded, deliberately rolling his eyes just to make Cameron who was looking at the side think that he was being serious and was slightly(jokingly) frustrated that he was joked around by his mom.

I was just trying to hide from my mom so she wouldn't catch me coming home with Noah, but this was making things way too intimate with him. Footsteps were getting closer. I was worried it was my mom. I wanted to look, but I couldn't. If I moved even an inch, my lips would definitely touch Noah’s. "Looks like you're enjoying this," Noah teased. I smacked his chest, a brave move, but pure annoyance flared up. "Shh, don't be noisy." "Why don't you want to be seen with me in front of your mom?" "My mom already knows you're in a biker gang.
