Caffeine doesn’t sound good right now.” “Pussy.” Darius chuckled, and the sounds of a coffee grinder followed soon after. When Donald returned with a steaming cup, he plopped down on one of the leather recliners. “How ya doing?” “Still can feel the skin reconnecting in weird ways.”

I said, not entirely pleased that Reyna was choosing to stay loyal to Mark. “You have someone at the reception waiting for you, ma’am,” she said to me. “Who is that?” I asked her, surprised. “A man named Donald Shell,” Reyna answered. What was he doing here? Without wasting time, I decided to go to the reception to see him. Donald stood up the moment Reyna and I appeared at the reception. “What are you doing here?” I asked Donald without bothering with pleasantries. “I think it’s time we made our new relationship public,” Donald blurted loudly and boldly.

Reed refused Donald and turned to leave. Donald looked at him from behind, frowning at his strong but tired appearance. Reed was a talented man. What a shame. Donald looked at the miniature bomb in his hands with a dark gaze. A wicked look flashed across his eyes as he quickly caught up to Reed. "Hey, Reed, I really need to talk to Mr. Walker about something. Come on, go and inform him!" Donald walked in front of Reed and hit his shoulder. When Reed fought back, he tried to attack Reed's face.

Ashley hummed in reply, and the call ended. Just then, Reese walked into the office carrying a tray of coffee. Her eye makeup was bold, and her red lipstick even bolder, like she was trying to send a message. “Good morning, Mr. Montclair,” she said softly, setting the coffee down on his desk with a faint smile. Dante barely glanced at her, only humming in response. Reese lowered her head and quietly walked out of the office. As soon as she stepped into the hallway, her chest tightened. She had made extra effort to look her best today, but he hadn’t even looked at her, not once.

I quickly ducked my head and tried to hide behind my screen, pretending to be extremely interested in my notes. We competed for top of the class for four years straight. You really think I wouldn’t recognise you?”

I lingered under the awning, hugging my arms, bandage itching beneath the sleeve. “Elena?” The voice slithered down my spine like ice water. I turned. Matteo Rashford. He stood ten feet away, arm slung around a blonde—pretty, heavily pregnant, smug. His grin curdled my stomach. “How the hell did you get out?” he asked, asking as if he cares, his voice loud enough for the small crowd under the awning to hear. “I heard you were auctioned to a ruthless drug lord. Don’t tell me you’re here for an abortion already?”

Nancy gave an evil smile and said, "I am an expert in that regard." At the Cliff Mansion, the Doctor was checking Triston, and Reese stood there worried.
