All I could think about was my child, strapped to that ride, and suffering.
By the time I finally found an attendant and pulled Ryder into my arms, he was limp. His face was ghostly pale, and he was barely breathing.
At the city hospital, my old classmate Dr. Finn Young, Ryder’s primary physician, looked at me with open reproach.
