Chapter Thirty Six Unwound Destany Megan stood outside of the ER department with dried tears on her cheeks waiting for Thomas. There had been another dead body, and this time it was someone from Megan’s past. David had been in the navy and was known around the hospital as Dr. Struggles. He was one of the doctors that had been on the oldest destroyers. He had a way doing things, and if you didn’t follow them to the letter, he would get bent out of shape. Many people would describe him as Dr. Doolittle from the original movie.

And at that exact moment, as if fate had chosen the second, the operating room door swung open. The orthopedic surgeon appeared first, still wearing his surgical cap, beads of sweat tracing lines down his forehead. Two nurses and an orderly followed behind him. The tension on his face froze us all. No one breathed. “Family of Dr. Liliana Acosta,” he called out, and the silence grew even heavier. Guillermo took a step forward, staggering, as if an invisible force were pulling him. I grabbed his arm to steady him.

Ethan replied, wiping his wet eyes with his sleeve and stepping back slightly, though Adrian kept a firm, protective hand resting on the small of Ethan’s back. Adrian turned to the lead doctor a tall, grey haired man with a calm, authoritative face. "Dr. Vance," Adrian said, his voice instantly shifting back into its firm, executive tone. “Who’s Doctor Ronan? And why did you find it strange?” “Doctor Ronan is an eye specialist,” Betty replies. “Or an eye surgeon? I don’t know his exact designation but he specializes in eyes. He works at Master Ryder’s hospital but Granny Miranda isn’t his patient. I ran into him a couple of times when I was asked to run errands there but that phone call did strike me as strange.” “Thank you, Betty. You may put the dress in the wardrobe.” Betty nods and puts the dress away before leaving the room. Once she’s gone, Scarlett falls into a deep thought.

"I know everything about them and NIcolae and I are very close...I also know their family secret." He answers. "Are you one of them too?" I ask as we stop in front of Lorie's school.
