Reaching down, The Elf King lifts one of the eggs from the basket and holds it up to the blue light above.
“Strange, the shell on this egg is too thick to see the child within,” Thalan observes. “If they are so close to hatching, we should be able to see your unhatched child.”
“Air Dragons are different!” I shout, pulling on my chains as he holds my precious little one precariously between his talons, turning it from side to side. “Our eggs are thicker! And our baby’s feathered wings get in the way from seeing them. See how my egg glows,” I pointed upward at the gleaming, pearl-like shell, “That is a royal air dragon egg. Pure white!”
