CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: Azrael's POV: “Nope,” Caspian snorted. “You just want to get her under you so bad.” I pinched the bridge of my nose, taking a deep breath before I lost it and forgot he was my best friend. Minutes—literal ‘minutes’—I'd spent explaining the mysteries surrounding Saphielle and this was his takeaway? He was a 500-year-old vampire, for fuck's sake. He couldn't be that dense.

This is what I want to do and I will do it." This continued for three whole minutes before a vampire rushed up to Dagon. Catching him off-guard, she grabbed him and threw him aside, negating the effect of his spell on Drexa. Drexa felt free as soon as he was down and quickly got up. She rushed up to him, raised him up with one hand and sighed, "It's unfortunate you chose the losing team," then she dug her hand into her chest and pulled out his heart.

he whispered against my neck. His warm breath stirred up something inside me. I so fucking loved this. Dirty, cheating, forbidden filthy fucking is the best; the rush of a risk of Darla catching us, feeling betrayed, imagining her face when she found the man she was marrying the next day fucking her best friend's ass, god, that instead of making me feel pity for her, I was feeling more turned on.
