He got down as soon as I approached and let me in.
“Good evening, Mrs Harrington," Daniel hummed as the door closed.
“Hi Daniel, did you have a good day?” I asked, wanting to start a very generic conversation before everything turned tense between us.
“Yes, I did," he nodded and fell into silence.
The door opened from the other side, and Stephen slid in. He focused his attention on me for a second before he tapped the headrest of the chair, and Daniel began driving.
The drive to the restaurant was quiet; I wanted to break it off so many times, but I was not sure what the right words to say were, so I just sat still and waited.
