The game tried to continue, but I was done playing.
I stood up abruptly, bringing Drisana with me, my arm locked tight around her waist. “We’re leaving,” I announced. “My girlfriend’s had too much to drink.”
Drisana didn’t argue. She leaned heavily into me, her body warm and pliant from the alcohol. Her hand clutched my shirt like she needed the anchor.
We were about to leave when Charlotte spotted us near the door. She was clearly drunk too, cheeks flushed, giggling as she stumbled toward us, supported by a tall guy with his arm around her waist. Charlotte’s boyfriend, I assumed.
