Jean stops and looks at Duke. “I spoke to my own sister in person just a couple of weeks ago. She didn’t mention anything. And this could have been communicated over the phone,” Duke narrows his eyes. “A phone call can be tracked. Are you familiar with her mate?” Jean asks, gathering a file off his desk. “I know he is a warrior, just starting a school. He is a technology major,” Duke tries not to seem bored. “He is of the Warrior Class, but he is a Red Blood Warrior,” Jean hands over the file to a now shaken Duke.

He rubbed his injury slowly. “I’ve already warned you. Keep your hands off me. I don’t work for you, Jay.” Rachel drawled his named snidely, in a similar manner to the way he’d been talking to her. “And I’ve already got your garbage figured out. He’s your infiltrator.” A long slender arm extended, one slim finger pointed at Duke. “What are you going to do without him? Take a medieval rooftop fortress with your fifty men and some unverified information your clever sister has found?”

He’d attempt to reach out in a few days to see which of his sons survived. His priority, however, would be his own safety. I told you! Duke growled. He was furious at Kane. “Shut up! Focus on detecting approaching attacks. We aren’t in the clear yet.” Kane growled back. It’s too late. You allowed too many loose ends, and now it has all caught up to us. You have ruined everything we were building. You stupid human! Duke was rabid at the idea of everything they'd just lost. It would be impossible to advance their decade-long build plans now.
