The ice in my very veins melted as he grew even taller than he normally was and more muscular,ripping Zephyros's tunic in the process. I staggered backwards and tripped on a branch. I fell backwards on my rump and even the sting was not enough to take my eyes off him. I couldn't bear what I witnessed so my vision suddenly went dark and my body fell to the place where Duncan's body was burned. "HELENA, I'm here."

The fabric on his wrist burned and he immediately tapped on it until the fire went out. Hands grabbed my shoulder and helped me up on my feet, but I was too busy staring at the mark on Duncan’s wrist to even care who was beside me at the moment. It was the burned mark of the serpent. “You...You’re one of them.” I whispered while staring at Duncan. He looked at me with pure hatred before raising his gun at us. Fortunately, Duke and Falco tackled him before he could even fire.

Lars watched Len's back as he recorded. They couldn't make out the conversation from their distance. However, it was enough to record and capture Duncan's face in clear definition. Duncan Penderghast had been known as a notorious serial killer and among FBI's current most wanted fugitives. Lars and Len learned of him from the news once. His crime and brutish appearance certainly made a lasting impression on them.

Kendra helped me stand and found some sweatpants and a shirt in a drawer helping me put them on and we made our way out of the room walking upstairs where we were face to face with Dash and Dane who seemed to be in a stance for battle.
