Ralph apologized breathlessly, as he hugged me. "I'm sorry…" he said again, but the next thing that came out of my mouth, was a scream, as I saw we were about to fall down a huge waterfall. Ralph also yelled when he saw it, but our efforts to swim backwards amounted to nothing. We were taken quickly down the waterfall, and in seconds, we were falling.

I was exploding with fear and terror as Ralph crouched over me. My whole body trembled, and then I heard a growl of a wolf; It wasn’t a mistake because I heard it loud and clear. Before I knew it, Ralph got off me, and with the speed of light, he and his driver pounced on the car. With barely any effort, I saw Ralph crash the tinted window, and the car sped off before he could launch another attack.

"What if he knows about us? What if he’s already figured out our secret? He could go back and tell Dante… and their mother… the entire pack." Ralph snorted, his confidence unshaken. "Then I’ll just have to make sure that he and his men don't leave this place alive," he said, his voice a dangerous, simmering whisper. "Problem solved." I looked at him, half in shock, half in awe. The casual way he said it, like it was the simplest answer in the world, sent a thrill through me. "Ralph… you’re serious," I murmured, feeling a strange rush of excitement flood through me. "You would really do that?"

Finally, someone couldn't stand it anymore and snatched the glass from his hand. "Enough! You just had your stomach pumped yesterday! Do you have to treat your life like it's worthless? "She's only been gone a few days, and you're already destroying yourself. Why don't you just call Mabes and fix this?" Ralph's expression darkened even further. Under the silent stares of everyone present, he grabbed a bottle, chugged it down, and smashed it on the table before storming out. The cool night wind did nothing to calm Ralph's blazing fury.

I groaned and swiveled my gaze around, and it was pure horror! The Alpha Mansion was clothed in fiery flames. The Rogues had blown it up. I veered my gaze around in search of Daniel, Sassaba, or Ivanka, but none of them were in sight. My heart leaped. Ralph had gotten back to his feet and he helped my too-stunned-to-move self up. I was too dazed to act properly so I staggered.
