I ask. "That will be way too heavy" she sighs. She hasn't exactly made things easy on herself, one looks like it's at least 600 pages. "Ever thought about getting one of those e-reader thingies? They hold all your books on one device" I say, gesturing behind the counter to a display of different screens. She smiles slightly before going back to the covers in front of her.

I replied. “Take notes if necessary. Or better…” he went to the receptionist. “Mr. Brown! How may I help you?” she asked politely. “Give me a Live Scribe 3 SmartPen” She gave him some pen and damn, it looked expensive. “So that you don’t care about saving or writing very beautifully on your papers. Writing on the phone is damn hard. Just take this..." he took a real good paper bundle of like… 10 pages. “And write on them”

Roxy said "How about one of y'all take the notes then let everybody take pictures of them" Dashawn said "Whose going to take the notes" Diamond asked and they all looked at me "What" I said "I am not about to be the only one taking notes while y'all relax" "Come on Alaina you gone take take the notes even if someone else does" Cam said "That's true because writing the notes down helps you remember them that's why y'all need to write them" I said as I turned around in the desk and started writing what was on the board

Slowly, carefully, he lifted the book from its pedestal. “Got it," he whispered triumphantly. The eBook felt historical, its cover worn but still vibrant with problematic designs. He opened it to the first page, eyes scanning swiftly. The text changed into written in an antique dialect, but Michael had studied enough to apprehend the gist. This e book held secrets and techniques, powerful ones that might exchange the whole thing.

Aiden had a light sheen of sweat on his face, and she felt genuinely grateful. “Thank you, Aiden. Come in and have some water before you go.” “I should get going,” he said with a smile. “I still need to do some research at the library.” Then he turned and left. Miranda set the fruit on the table before taking out the books from the tote. Two were medical texts with notes in Eugene’s handwriting. The third was a thin notebook, the kind someone might use to jot down thoughts and observations as they worked. She sat down on the couch and opened it.

A small black flash drive and a folded note. I picked up the note first, fingers trembling. A yellow sticky note was attached to it with neat handwriting: Read me last. Against every screaming instinct, I obeyed. I set the note aside and stared at the flash drive. It was sleek, unmarked, the kind that could hold hours of video or thousands of documents. What could possibly be on it? I walked to the bedroom, legs feeling strangely heavy, and sat on the edge of the bed. My laptop was still open from earlier writing. I plugged the drive in, holding my breath as the computer recognized it.

"Your copy. The one with your margin notes." Something moved across his face. Not surprise — she had known there would be margin notes. She had known because she knew him. He went to his study. Came back with a folder. Set it on the table between them. She opened it. Read in silence for a long time. The margin notes were thorough. Precise. The notes of a man who had read every word and understood every implication. On page twelve, beside the stress induction protocol description, in Julian's careful hand: *Necessary? Alternatives?*

"Oh, umm, when we first met, I thought she was really attractive and I wanted to know her personally even though she was really popular. Today I still think she is pretty and now I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with her." She smiled and scribbled it down on her pad. "If you have a tablet, why not write your notes on it? I'm sure you have the money for a simple Apple Pencil." Klaire blurted out. Casey sighed and looked over at her. "Klaire, please." "It's not a crime to ask questions like that," she looked away, crossing her arms. "I use a pad because it's easier to use than holding a big tablet and the Apple Pencil does not feel as good. I tried to use it but I didn't like it

He rolls his eyes at me before kissing my forehead and leaving his office. I look at the books he laid out in front of me earlier. He really highlighted the parts that I would need. Some pages had little stick on notes attached to them. I pick up a random one and it says; “Start from the very beginning to understand, I thought I told you to have patience?” I laugh, I could almost hear him click his tongue at me through the note. I place it right where i picked it up from and start from the very beginning. “Hey beautiful. I can tell you aren’t reading the texts. And to think I stayed up all night preparing this.” With an annoyed looking emoji underneath it.

“That sounds a bit.…creepy.” “I was simply paying attention, don’t you think so?” He laughed lightly, then continued when I didn't respond. “For instance, I know you still prefer to write things down instead of just typing them on your phone. Meeting, ideas, random thoughts, I know you all write them down. You even underline when something is important.” “How do you…” I was becoming breathless. He winked. “I told you I pay attention. It’s really that simple.” “Well, do me a favour and stop paying attention, will you?”
