I want to see other things.” “I would like to be recognized for my efforts in everything I do.” When they were done saying their wishes, I smiled. “I hope to repay some people in their coin, and I want a happy family. Expression unreadable except for the unbearable softness in his eyes now. The candles were lit eventually. Everyone sang loudly and terribly. I laughed so hard during it that I almost forgot to make a wish. Almost. But when the candles flickered softly beneath the lantern-lit apartment— I closed my eyes carefully.
