I wasn’t certain how to face Monica after what she had done to me and then I wouldn’t know how to face the other girls that may have to suffer the same fate without knowing a way to help them. It didn’t take long for me to realize that there wasn’t something that I wanted to wish for in particular. However, it wasn’t every day that I could get the see fireworks on display like this so it would be a waste not to wish for anything. I wonder what the prince is wishing for? Before I fully understood what I was doing, my mind was already making a silent wish to the fireworks that were still lighting the dark sky above us. ‘I wish that all of Prince Leonard’s wishes will be granted without fail…’

The innocence of the wish hit him like a hard punch to the gut. He read the next snowflake. I wish my mom didn’t have to worry about her job. I wish that she could be happy again. Also, I wish for a unicorn. That one was marked with Molly’s name.

I make it short, and he looks at me through narrowed eyes, confused, but I decide not to explain my crazy interaction with whoever that was, but do what I brought him here to do, and take the checkbook from my bag. “Tell me your name, please,” I request as I fill in the other fields, including the amount. “Why?” He asks suspiciously, making me smile. “Because I want to make your second biggest wish come true,” I answer as I look at him expectantly, and he opens his mouth, then closes it, not sure if he should talk, or if he can. “J-James Wilson.” He stutters in a shaky voice, probably realizing what I’m doing, and after I finish, I rip the check and give it to him.
