“ The night grows The wind blows Unseen stars from windows Tamed heights Untrained eyes see hope in city lights. But my soul longs for starlights with you by my side. When I look at the city lights from my window, I wish you were here by my side.” I lowly recite the poem while thinking of my mom and dad. They have no contacted me in a while ; this scares me a bit. He went over and read one. I wish that I didn’t have to move. I wish that Dad’s didn’t have to go to California. Also, I wish for a puppy that doesn't make me sneeze. The innocence of the wish hit him like a hard punch to the gut. He read the next snowflake. I wish my mom didn’t have to worry about her job. I wish that she could be happy again. Also, I wish for a unicorn. That one was marked with Molly’s name.

I make it short, and he looks at me through narrowed eyes, confused, but I decide not to explain my crazy interaction with whoever that was, but do what I brought him here to do, and take the checkbook from my bag. “Tell me your name, please,” I request as I fill in the other fields, including the amount. “Why?” He asks suspiciously, making me smile. “Because I want to make your second biggest wish come true,” I answer as I look at him expectantly, and he opens his mouth, then closes it, not sure if he should talk, or if he can. “J-James Wilson.” He stutters in a shaky voice, probably realizing what I’m doing, and after I finish, I rip the check and give it to him.

What I loved were wild roses that bloomed with hope. As I tossed yet another bouquet into the trash for the tenth time, Wayne finally lost his composure.
