Echoes of that night
And now her body was aching.
The alley tilted sideways. Her vision blurred dark at the edges, and the noise in her ears turned into a heavy ringing sound. Her knees turned completely to water. The fierce anger was still burning hot in her chest, but her battered, exhausted body simply couldn't back it up anymore. The blood loss, the hard strike to her calf, and the impact to her head finally caught up to her all at once.
"You're crazy..." she rasped out, her voice barely a whisper against the cool night air.
