The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Her silver hair danced in the cold wind sweeping through the avenue. Behind her, the other echoes remained motionless. Waiting. Thomas swallowed hard. "What do you mean?" His voice sounded small. The old woman smiled sadly. "The City of Echoes was created to preserve possibility." The sky rumbled above them. A distant crack split through the silver heavens. Yet she continued speaking. "As long as possibility existed, we existed." Thomas frowned. "And now?" The smile faded. "Now possibility is ending." A terrible silence followed. The words settled over the group like falling snow.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Whispers of the Dark

Whispers of the Dark

She argued that with vampirism, witchcraft, and senses of werewolves combined, we will be indestructible. “Niklaus was made with witch powers! Powerful with powers at that! And you think a bite from him would produce the same results?” Lucianna screamed once again, seeking for the attention to be diverted to her. I hid my claws when I saw my aunt averted her gaze to my cousin, Lucianna. I immediately sat beside Natyaramona and assisted her into standing up. Her breaths were heavy and sharp, panting and almost begging for the last of it.

Whisper of the Silence

Whisper of the Silence

Needed silence. As soon as she stepped out backstage, noises around the bustling city drowned out the critiques and came clear in her ears. Propping her head against the wall facing the sun, she could hear cars honking and people talking. About what? She had no idea, but it probably wouldn't be anything worse than what she was experiencing at this moment.

Echoes of the Pack

Echoes of the Pack

I step towards her, "if you know how foolish it was for you to come?" She won't look me in the eye. None of them ever could. "I had a vision...and could not be negligent in delivering it to you. Zemira-there are things that we never knew about Orion...things that are too horrific to speak of." "The Goddesses do not show us visions of him. It's part of their rulings- remember?" "Perhaps they knew that one of their most important warriors was no longer listening-” "I am the lowest of the High Prophets. Do not try play to my ego and pretend that my role is higher than yours or High Prophet Ro-"

Warming The Cruel Alpha's Bed

Warming The Cruel Alpha's Bed

The islanders accepted that echoes were a sign of the interconnecting of all things—an update that each activity had a response, and each word had an effect. We were invited by Alaric, the island's reverberated sage, who clarified the importance of their special environment. "Here on the Isle of Echoes, we get it that our words and activities ripple through the world, much just like the echoes that encompass us. It could be a consistent update of the adjustment we must keep up in our intuition."

Echoes of the moon

Echoes of the moon

“Watching the councils grow weak, waiting for someone like you to appear. All that power wasted on protecting these lesser creatures!” I dodged his attack easily, feeling how the stone circles enhanced my movements. My witch sight showed me exactly how he'd corrupted the ancient magic, and how to undo it. Each aspect of my power contributed to the understanding — vampire instincts tracking energy flows, wolf senses detecting weaknesses, demon insight revealing the corruption's nature, angel grace showing the path to purification.

Broken Vows, New Promises

Broken Vows, New Promises

Null stood at the edge of the woods, gaze fixed on the tree line. “I heard it again,” he said as Damien and Aurora approached. Damien crouched beside him. “The frequency?” Null nodded. “It’s… sharper now. Like a whisper coming through a closed door.” “Can you still block it?” “I’m trying. But whatever it is—it’s learning. Every time I shut it out, it finds another path.” Aurora looked at Damien. “We need a counter-signal.” “We’ll build one,” he said. “But we’ll need equipment—something stronger than what we have here.”

Frequently Asked Questions

specialty online retailers like BookDepository or AbeBooks sometimes have rare editions pop up. Physical stores are trickier, but independent bookshops with a focus on speculative fiction might surprise you. I once stumbled upon a similar out-of-print gem at a tiny bookstore in Portland, so it’s worth calling around if you’re near bigger cities.

For digital options, Scribd or Audible could have it if it’s an audiobook, though the title sounds more like an obscure novel. If all else fails, hitting up forums like Reddit’s r/printSF or Discord groups for fantasy fans might lead to someone reselling their copy. The thrill of finally finding it after months of searching? Unbeatable.
