A Bond Not Meant To Be
He flipped the pages without focus, then suddenly flung it across the floor.
He strode to the bed and dropped onto it with a heavy sigh.
On the couch, Mark, his closest friend, watched him silently.
“I’ve been here for over an hour,” Mark finally said, his voice calm but firm. “And I still don’t know what’s eating you.”
Edward dragged a hand through his hair, breathing hard. He looked lost, frustrated.
After a long silence, he got up again, picked up the same book, and flipped it quickly. His eyes darted over the words, but nothing stayed in his mind. With another growl of frustration, he hurled the book across the room again.
