~Omniscient POV The trees whispered in languages older than time. Eira stood beside Ryan, her arms folded tight across her chest. Behind her, the crooked forest stretched into infinite shadows. In front of them—nothing. No familiar path. No sky they recognized. The canopy was thick with curling black leaves, light filtered in green and gold through holes in the foliage, and the air smelled faintly of smoke and wet bark. “We’re lost, aren’t we?” she asked flatly.

It was dark, and the crescent moon was hidden behind the tall trees, and it couldn't illuminate the forest before us. Using a clairvoyance, I can see the entire forest enveloped in a dark red mist. I can even smell the pungent blood. The entire forest looks bloody and very ominous. There wasn't even the sound of crickets and some other insects, as though they fled away to another location. Without a second thought, we entered the forest and scanned the area with vigilance. "I sense evil," Light frowned. The deeper we go, the stronger the aura is. Some time later, the ground felt sticky, and that's when I noticed the blood and body parts of the werewolves. It's nauseating!

And that night, my real journey began—a descent into the haunted forest, where the main battle awaited me. The place was cloaked in shadows, dense with twisted trees, thick vines, and hanging moss that obscured the sky. I felt eyes watching me, lurking just out of sight. The chill of the night air pricked by my skin, every step filled with dread. Bones littered the ground under an ancient tree, each one a silent warning of the horrors waiting up ahead. In the distance, a scary cave loomed. The thick, damp air reeked of decay and rot. It was as if death itself had settled here and made a home out of the shadows. The smell clung to my throat like smoke, sour and suffocating.

Their pale faces glowed faintly in the thin silver light, and their feet made no sound as they moved through the leaves. Elora’s stomach twisted hard enough to make her feel nauseous. The forest itself seemed to press inward, the skeletal branches of the dead trees clawing at the moon. The light dimmed further, as though the very night didn’t want to see what was about to happen. One of the creatures let out a noise—not a groan, not a growl, but a low, rasping hiss that vibrated somewhere deep in her bones. It scraped at her spine like ice on stone.

The first light of dawn stretched over the horizon, casting an eerie, pale glow on the dark forest. The air was thick with mist, and the ever-present scent of pine and earth seemed to carry something far darker beneath it—a whisper, a pull, as though the land itself was aware of their presence.

The twilight shadows, deep here while the sky was still bright above, lent the forest a quality that fell somewhere between mystical and eerie. The growl brought her up short. It came from a stand of bushes, and as she turned her head in that direction, she saw the glint of animal eyes. Jaylee didn't move except to edge her hand to her camera bag. She could just make out a hulking shadow concealed by the leafy boughs. It was breathing in low rasps. The eyes, as lambent green as those snap-and-shake glow sticks kids used at Halloween, never wavered as she slowly raised the camera and sighted through it.

The moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow across the forest as Clara, Ashani, Isla, and Emily made their way deeper into the heart of WildWood.
