Riven whispers
She hesitates, voice echoing in the stillness:
Valeria: “Nothing yet. It’s… as if the veil rejects us.”
Riven slams his fist into the oak altar, rattling scrolls and vials.
“What good is drowning poison in blood if we can’t pull them back when we need them?!” asked Riven who was already growing impatient.
His breath shakes as he scans the tokens of power around him,a necklace carved from a siren bone, a wolf’s fang, a stone vial of pure energy. None responded. No spark, no twinkle, no whisper.
“We’re running out of lines to draw. Combinations to weave. …Riven, we don’t have time.” Valeria said.
