Elena's POV: From where I sat I could hear the conversation going on between my mom and the unknown person that rang the doorbell. “How may I help you?” My mom asked. “I am here to see Elena.” The strangely familiar voice replied. “Who are you? And what business do you have with my daughter?” My mom asked, already annoyed. “It's me Mason Brown, your son-in-law.” I guess I wasn't the only one listening to them, I noticed my father's sudden change in expression and the icy aura emanating from Williams.

She knew now that Nina Pestova was his mother, but the way the rest of the Pestov family had reacted in front of his presence, she knew there was a lot more that she didn’t know. The doors opened. Elena stepped into the control room. Her mother stood at the center. Gabriel was beside her. Elias was on the floor. And behind them was the main control system. Elena stopped. “Mom.” Her mother looked at her. Tears immediately filled her eyes. “My little girl.” Elena's voice broke. “Why?” Her mother shook her head. “I tried to stop them.” “Then stop them now.” “I can't.” “Why?” Her mother looked at Adrian.

"Don't lie to me, Alex! I saw you two together, and I know what's been going on!" My mind raced as I tried to process the situation. Alex's mom? What was she talking about? "Mom, please understand—" Alex tried again, but she interrupted him once more. “I’m not in for your explanation this time around “. She sighed in anger as she gave me a devilish look. "No, Mom, you need to understand. Elena, here, is not who you think she is." My heart skipped a beat on Alex's response to his mom but I maintained my composure.

Elena picked up her phone and called her sons. "Mommy!" they shouted together when they answered. "Guess what?" Elena said with a smile. "I'm coming home tomorrow. And when I get there, we're going to spend the whole day together doing whatever you want." "Really?" Alexander asked excitedly. "Really," Elena confirmed. "No work, no meetings, just us. How does that sound?" "Perfect!" Adrian said. "Can we go to the science museum?"

3 "Mommy and Daddy died. I don't remember them much but at least I still have Elena." I looked at this kid in front of me. He was four years old and smarter than any four year old I had ever met. "Can you get me some ice cream?" I looked over at Elena. She was talking to an older woman. She was beautiful. Her brown hair was curled softly down to about the middle of her back. She had green eyes that changed to a dark blue. I had no idea how she didn't have a boyfriend. The older woman smiled and walked away.

DELILAH “Well,” Elena began, clearing her throat dramatically. “Like I told you, Mom,” she said in that annoyingly childish voice she always used with our parents, the one that grated on my nerves every time. “I heard people talking,” she continued, putting a hand to her chest like she was the victim here. “They said Dad has left the house, that he’s no longer taking care of you, and that we were broke, that we were beggars now. That we didn’t have any money.....”

“I know this isn’t fair. But I can’t give you answers I don’t have.” Elena stared at him, searching his face for any sign he was lying. She didn’t find one. She grabbed her bag and got out of the car without another word. She reached her room and dropped her bag on the floor. Her phone rang. Mom. Elena answered immediately. “Mom?” “Elena, sweetheart. I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to call sooner.” “Where are you? Are you okay? Is everyone okay?” “We’re fine. We’re all fine. I promise.”

Elija wants to move into a different home, why? “Because of you, You are here and always ordering Elena, she should not take this much stress.
