For bitter or worse

For bitter or worse

Ximena places her stuff quickly in a neat pile and I place the box on the ground before unpacking it. The thick books are all looking really old, with leather bindings, golden lettering, and thick yellow paper. I read the covers; Magia elemental, La historia de la magia, Un testimonio de la cacería de la brujas en la Espana, Guía de brujas, Libro de encantamientos, Libro de los muertos, Leyedas mágicas and book with no letters on its covers, just an upside down tree. I wonder what that one is about. For everyone wondering, here are the translations:

Bonded to the Elf king

Bonded to the Elf king

More importantly, why was I smelling magic in Eloise’s bedroom. It didn’t take me long to see through it. I was an Elf King after all, so while she – Lyara, walked to me, with the cloaking spell in place, I had to keep myself from snapping. Eloise was my priority and I needed to know what she had done with her. Where was she? Where was my mate? And how the fuck was this wolf doing in my home again. The last time i had caught her here, i had made sure to warn her sternly never to return, but she did. She had guts. Was she trying to find Ian?

My Demon Life: Lucifer's Quest

My Demon Life: Lucifer's Quest

There was nothing written in it at all. Ban: You're making this more confusing. Reiya: Just listen to what I am trying to tell you. Ban: Okay. Okay Reiya: When Lord Lucifer gave them each book he said that the books will be the key. You see these books are enchanted in such a way that when something is written in one book the other books will receive the same writings. And Lucifer's book is the main book. Only when it is written in his book will the content appear on the other books. If the other lords write something on the book they were given it would be erased instantly as long as it is not written on the main book.

I give 5 stars on all criteria! I love the story and I really felt like I'm watching an anime. If you are into fast progressing and an intriguing story - this is it! I don't know exactly what good words more to say, but this book got me so excited I want to read all of it in one breath!

The Forbidden Crown

The Forbidden Crown

While the grand duke’s protection offered some hope, it also made her wonder about her place in his home. Once in the Library room, Elen was pleasantly surprised to see it filled with books. Despite her earlier worries about forbidden books, she couldn’t help but feel excited. The grand duke’s servant brought some old books to the table, and Elen eagerly flipped through them, searching for any mention of fairies and silver werewolves. “Please call if you need anything, my lady,” the servants said before leaving the library. “Thank you,” Elen replied and began to read the books.

The Enchanted Realm

The Enchanted Realm

Another ally, a wise sage named Elara, added, "Legends speak of a forgotten library deep within the Enchanted Woods. It is said to contain knowledge that could shed light on the mysteries we face." The heroes nodded, their determination strengthening as they absorbed the insights shared by their allies. In that moment, a plan began to take shape—a multi-faceted approach that combined Elysia's visions, Finnegan's artifacts, and Elara's ancient library. Their collective efforts would pave the way for a confrontation with the looming

Blood Of The Forgotten Moon

Blood Of The Forgotten Moon

The old woman smiled sadly. “That choice disappeared the moment your mark awakened.” Elara closed her eyes. Then lifted the latch. The chest opened with a long, tired creak. Inside lay only three objects. A silver cloak. A worn leather journal. And a small wooden wolf carved by hand. The moment Elara picked up the wolf… The world disappeared. ⸻ Fire. Smoke. Screams. She was no longer standing in the valley. She was inside a castle. Stone walls shook around her as warriors clashed in the corridors.

The Mafia’s heir’s bride

"That book carries the curse of power. The Moranos used it once to conquer our ancestors. We will not let history repeat itself. The book must be destroyed." Elowen laughed softly, her tone sharp as a blade. All eyes turned to her as she reached into her cloak and pulled out the black book. "Name your price," she said. The Atlan master frowned. "What game are you playing?" "Jewelry, gold, boxes of money," Elowen said carelessly. "Too small," she added, tilting her head. "I need more." The master glared at her. "Fine." He snapped his fingers, and his men brought forward boxes of gold and silver.

The Feast of the Luna

The Feast of the Luna

Elara sat back down, her tail wagably content. "You're getting good at this," Fenris murmured, reaching for her hand. "She’s just so easy to poke," Elara admitted. "But Silas... about that book." Silas sighed, sliding the leather-bound volume across the table. "It was in the 'Discarded' pile in the archives. It’s a centuries-old collection of patterns from the Great Weavers of the North. They say the last Luna used to knit charms into the garments to keep the hunters warm."

A Contract With My Demon

A Contract With My Demon

"If you burn this, your story with me... it never reaches a conclusion. We'll be in this 'Volatile Middle' forever. The tension, the fighting, the hunger... it never settles into peace." Elara looked into his grey eyes. She saw the demon who had branded her, the man who had died for her, and the partner who was now standing in the Zero-Point with her. "Peace is just another word for 'Paid in Full', Vane," Elara said. "And I’m not interested in being settled." She touched the flame to the corner of the book. The leather didn't burn with orange fire. It erupted in a geyser of white light and rainbow colored ink. The pages turned into birds made of words, flying out of the vault, through the co

Frequently Asked Questions

The Elfen Lied manga adaptation is the version most fans are familiar with, but the original novel is a bit of a hidden gem. From what I've gathered, the novel was written by Lynn Okamoto, the same creator behind the manga, and it has just one volume. It's interesting because the novel actually predates the manga and anime, offering a different take on the story. I've heard it delves deeper into some of the psychological themes, though it's not as widely available as the manga.

If you're a die-hard fan of the series, tracking down the novel could be a fun deep dive. It's a shame it didn't get more volumes, but the standalone nature makes it a quick, intense read. The manga's 12 volumes and the anime’s 13 episodes definitely overshadow it, but the novel has its own raw, unfiltered charm.
