I downloaded them all. The cursor blinked at the bottom of the screen, waiting for another question, another move. But I already knew what I needed to do. Makayla thought she was entering a final confrontation, but Stacey was already ten steps ahead.
I stared at my phone like it might blink first.
The cracked screen lit up with nothing—no messages, no new notifications, not even one of those annoying emergency alerts—just the pale blue glow of possibility. The signal flickered weakly in the upper corner, a single bar teasing me like it might vanish again at any second.
