“Let them. We’re ending this tonight.” The old church loomed in the moonlight, its silhouette stark against the night sky. Sophie and Alex crept towards it, the weight of the journal heavy in Sophie’s bag. The air was thick with tension, every shadow seeming to hide a threat. They pushed open the creaking doors, the sound echoing in the empty space. The interior was dark, illuminated only by the faint moonlight streaming through the stained glass windows. Dust motes danced in the air, and the smell of damp wood filled Sophie’s nose.

"I am the shadow that consumes. The darkness that engulfs the light. You cannot flee." Darkness closed in around them, swirling like a snake preparing to pounce. Emereah's heart pounded, fear bubbling in her breast. She looked down at Lunareth and her mind shrieked with horror. She could not lose her child to this beast. Not after all they had struggled for.

The exhaustion from my emotions dragged me away into the darkness easily. I closed my heavy eyes as my subconscious took over. The dark abyss appeared around me. Pure darkness with no escape. I reached for Walt, as my energy started to diminish. Shani was quickly draining me, I saw flashes of images of Arkael's past then his life in the underworld. It was horrendously dark and sad at the same time. Shani was looking at me, just as she was also viewing at the flashes of images.
