MATTEO I sat back in my chair, Emily’s file still open in front of me. Pages of her life, her records, her achievements. Everything about her was detailed, too detailed. Clean for a lady like her. No wonder they sent her after men like me. I hated to admit it… but she was good at her job. Too good. My phone rang, pulling me out of my thoughts. It was Dominic. I picked it up immediately. “Talk to me.”

I inhaled sharply under his cold, scrutinizing gaze. “You’re definitely not who I was expecting,” he said finally, his voice was cold. I straightened my shoulders. “No, I’m not. You were supposed to meet my mom, Mrs. Davis. I’m her daughter, Emily. I’m filling in for her. She’s unwell.” I saw the flicker of disbelief behind his blank expression. “This,” he gestured vaguely at me with his left hand, “is the best replacement she could find?”

She announced and from the corner, Lilian moved out looking relieved. “Why did you think it could be David?” Lilian asked curiously. “You don’t know anything about him, Lilian… He isn’t the way he looks… He’s…” Emma stopped, she didn’t know if revealing about Henry would scare Lilian. Or, maybe she won’t believe Emma's words because not in any way Henry looked harmful when he was in the public. “Just stay away from David for the time being,” Emma suggested, and then taking out a paper and pen, she wrote her number and the campus’s name where she was working, and then she handed it to Lilian.

It was Emily, a woman whose presence in this unexpected encounter was enigmatic, to say the least. When Francisco's intense gaze fell upon Emily, he was met with an audacious smile and a flirtatious wink. "Did I interrupt you, babe?" Emily inquired, her voice dripping with innuendo. Emily, with her striking beauty and an allure that could captivate any soul, had long graced the pages of fashion magazines as a celebrated model. Her ebony eyes, raven-black hair, and alluring figure possessed the kind of allure that could captivate any man. Her beauty was both mesmerizing and provocative, leaving a trail of longing in its wake.

Emily raised her chin smugly and was about to speak when David stopped her. “I know exactly what you’re trying to do. You’ve got your phone in your pocket and are ready to record us, right? Well, I’m not saying anything!” Emily was startled and quickly covered her mouth. She looked me up and down with a malicious gaze. I laughed bitterly before pulling out my phone from my pocket and handing it to them. “I just want to know the truth. There’s no need to get so defensive.”

"Alex Reynolds? You don't know who she is?" Emily shook her head. "No, I don't think so." Sarah's expression turned stunned "Only the top actress and model in America! She's a household name, Emily. She's won countless awards, graced every major magazine cover" Emily's eyes grew wider. "Wow, that's impressive." Sarah nodded. "And she's not just talented, she's also the only daughter of the wealthy and influential Reynolds family. They're a big deal in America, Emily." Emily whistled softly. "That's a lot of achievement. She must be a legend."

Emily voiced out "That's not the reason actually, i think i might be going through some guy crises between the three of them"I said but she looked confused from what i just said, so i clarified "Raymond, David and Todd" "Oh" Came her response "I literally just lashed out my anger on David through the phone few minutes ago and yeah he saw me making out with Todd" I said again but Emily consoling words were "That doesn't mean anything, you guys aren't dating yet or are you?"

“I’m sure you’re just afraid of losing what you have, including being Mrs. Thomas.” She turned to me. She didn’t answer. “David is a threat to you, but you don’t know what to do to eliminate him, do you?” She suddenly touched my chin, pressing it hard. I was startled and almost pulled away, but her piercing gaze held me in place. “Don’t speak carelessly, or I really will kill your David.” “Kill Him, like you killed his mother,” I said slowly, my voice slightly trembling. Emily’s hand slowly loosened from my chin, but the tension remained in the air. She stood still in front of me, eyes scanning mine, as if trying to measure how much I knew.

The day Cameron ripped out Emma's heart was the day this war became too personal for Emily. Her purple eyes burned with fury and resentment. But I could see she was fighting her rage and I took joy in every second of her pain. She wasn't stupid enough to fight me. “One day Davina. I swear one day, I'll get to shut those lips of yours permanently,” She breathed in, smiling evilly. “Sure Emily, I'll look forward to it,” “I need to be certain she's in there,” She looked at me. “I couldn't get it open,”

I said to my mother, and she looked away, a bit annoyed. "And you will join us soon." I heard a familiar female voice say. To my horror, Emily walked out of the shadows and sat beside David. They kissed, and my eyes bulged. "Aren't you two supposed to be cousins?" I asked, and she began to laugh. "You can't hate us for hustling," Emily said. "I am Caspian's Cousin; Emily is my mate," David said. I wanted to run out of there to tell James all I knew.
