My life peaked at free Wi-Fi and half-off banana bread. It's 10:47 PM, my socks are wet inside my sneakers, and my back is doing this fun thing where it spasms every time I breathe too hard. Welcome to the glamorous existence of Hadley Russell: coffee-slinging, book-shelving, twenty-something years old disaster with a chronic caffeine addiction and the emotional range of a half-squished goldfish cracker. "Double whip, half-caff, soy latte with a pump of organic lavender and three ice cubes." The customer blinks at me expectantly, as if she didn't just order a beverage that sounds like it belongs in a fairy tale written by a yoga instructor.

Sylvia agreed. “I would love a coffee …” Em said. They looked at her. “It’s like 1 in the morning …” Mickey said. Em nodded. “Exactly..” but it barely came out due to the hoarseness of her voice. “You better take your medicine.” Aspen told her. “We will go up and get snacks and I’ll fix you a coffee.” Aspen understood the need for coffee at all hours of the day and night almost as much as Emerson did. And Em knew she would make it just how she liked it .. espresso shots and all. Even if it was 1 o’clock in the morning.

I didn't have a favourite coffee shop until I started running errands for Cruiz. It was sent from Heaven when I found a place that served coffee which cooled down his temper and soothed my soul. However, I never mentioned this to him. I knew he would make me search for a new one just because I found this place good. He was as sadistic as this. However, when I catch him sitting at the said coffee with an untouched cup of coffee sitting in front of him, I now realise that he did notice I liked it, he did notice when I bought coffee from this place every morning.

He asked and my eyes widened in shock. "So you're saying The Nine have governmental backings?" "Not only The Nine but most of other organisations out there." There were other evil organisations out there? My body began shaking as it dawned on me what might happen soon. Luke walked over to a coffee machine and then poured some hot coffee into a mug. "Do you know that I love coffee so much?" He questioned when he noticed that I had become worried and uncomfortable. "Really?" I replied to him weakly. "Yeah, coffee has this rich taste that I find amusing," he turned around and winked at me, a smile immediately made my lips part.

Leaving her office, she walked down the corridor, the familiar surroundings providing a mundane backdrop to the emotional whirlwind that churned within her. Ava made her way to the office kitchen, the aroma of coffee promising a comforting escape. The rhythmic sound of the coffee machine echoed in the quiet space as she prepared a cup. The warmth of the mug in her hands offered a brief respite, a physical sensation that anchored her in the present.

Just the difference in the last twenty-four hours had you staring off into space while you were in line at the coffee shop down the street from the office. "Excuse me? Sir?" You shook your head, waking yourself up. "Sorry, sorry," you mumbled, stepping up to the counter and thumbing open your phone to read off the orders. "I need three black coffees extra large, plus an almond macchiato large, a french vanilla large, two cold brews medium aaaand can I get one of those chocolate pastry things?" You asked.

But to be honest, I was loving it. This is my first love. Or more like my baby. Stress reliever. I order for a strong brew coffee with almond milk and maple syrup. With a froth on the top. "Ahh... This damn chair is a bit uncomfortable", I groan as my back hurts. "Just two more hours to go...", I mumble. Concentrating with all my focus I was able to do the coding of the app. I installed and extra feature to enhance his app and fixed the lagging.

“It was because while I was clinging to a ledge forty stories up, praying I wouldn't fall, you were buying her a necklace and sipping coffee.” The color drained from Vincent’s face. “That was just an accident, I thought you were just throwing a tantrum—” "A tantrum?" My voice cracked. "Vincent, you know my vertigo. I was forty stories up. I thought I was going to die. That wasn't a tantrum. Within few minutes he returned with a hot cup of coffee in a small plate. Cappuccino has always been my favourite type of coffee, I'm usually not picky with things but I'm definitely picky when it comes to coffee. I picked up my phone mindlessly and began to scroll through the net, not for any reason particularly. I just wanted to ease myself from all the stress. My subconscious quickly reminded me of my meeting with Janis and my son, everytime I sit alone I begin to remember those moments, for some reason that I can't explain.
