In a few seconds, he ended the call, then turned his gaze towards me. Max sighed, “It's time… Elena, I have a surprise for you.” He announced.

She smiled warmly at me, her hair now tied back in a ponytail style, revealing her full, beautiful face. I returned her smile and finally introduced myself, "I'm Ruby." Elena's warm smile lit up the room as she complimented my name. "Ruby, what a lovely name! I've never met anyone named Ruby before," she remarked, a playful glint in her eye. Her lighthearted joke brought a smile to my face, a genuine one, despite the overwhelming changes in my life. Elena’s chest tightened at her mother’s words, but she maintained her smile. “By the way, what’s the surprise that Dad mentioned?”

He really did, and still felt the same way. Elena is right about what she expects to be Vincent's reaction. He indeed is surprised.
