Kaliyah was crouched in a corner of the room, her arms wrapped tightly around her legs, her breath coming in ragged, short bursts.
The spiders had multiplied. There were hundreds, or maybe more. And the scorpions with their sharp tails glinting and twitching crawled across the floor, scaling the walls, and creeping toward her.
They were everywhere.
The door was locked. Her heart thundered in her chest. She had already screamed, already pounded the walls, but no one heard her.
