Eventually Noah stood, offering his hand.
"There's something I want to show you," he said. "Eleanor mentioned it earlier. I think you should see it before we leave tomorrow."
He led me through the house, down a hallway I hadn't yet explored, to a door at the far end that opened into a room unlike anything else in the estate– light-filled even in the dimming evening, tall windows facing the garden, easels stacked against one wall, canvases leaning in careful rows, the whole space smelling faintly of turpentine and old paper despite clearly not having been used in years.
