He was warm, steady, and dangerously still. Then, his fingers turned slowly beneath mine until our hands fit together properly, our fingers locking. It was completely intentional this time, not an accident of proximity. The raw intimacy of that tiny movement nearly stole the remaining air straight from my lungs.

Like a child clinging on, I push away his words and focus on the real biting issue that’s coursing up inside of me. “It’s all so overwhelming, now I’m here again,” I sigh softly, breaking the eye contact and focusing down on our laps instead. “ You know a problem shared is a problem half solved, I might be able to help you if you let me.” Elena stretched forth her hand towards Theresa, showing her the shiny piece on her finger. “ Wow! You are getting married! Congratulations my dear, you know you don't have to be sad, the journey is one of the sweetest once you have a kind and supportive partner and I'm sure the CEO is one.” Theresa took Elena's hand and admired the expensive masterpiece in her finger.
