I couldn't even look up at her. "Esme Sunny is the daughter of Gamma Lycan Felix Tarnon, the legendary warrior. She has a higher position than you and you must defeat Lucan Tharique to be able to touch her again, you heard. If you disobey then your power will disappear."

Esme's POV I'm sitting in my room having a bit of a break when I begin to feel different in myself, I have become more moodier again and my breasts hurt but I then realise that I'm 3 weeks late for my period. I didn't think much of it because I have been training along side Finley again and its been a stressful few months - first the gala - then my old pack coming into our pack lands - then training everyday or training other children who want to become warriors

My heart is pounding but I comport myself. I smoothen my dress, lift my chin, and stride to the door. My hand hesitates on the handle for only a moment before I yank it open. I recognized her almost instantly. Esme Wiles is Damien's third cousin, even though he can barely stand the sight of her. Her lips curl into a mean smile. What the fuck is she doing here? “Esme,” I say coolly, blocking the doorway with my body. “To what do I owe this... unexpected visit?”

I had a couple friends in Florence, and after a few texts, we met somewhere crowded and dark, going straight for the hard liquor and skipping the wine. I had wine for breakfast. We didn't even know her, or I didn't. “Hey girls.” The woman said confidently. Okay, seemed she would come and see us. But why? “I just thought I would come and say hi, I am Esme, one of the co-owners of the coffee store, though I don’t get to work in here too often due to shifts at the hospital, I think you met my son the other day when you arrived, Camilla. And Bella I imagine you have met the rest of my crazy lot.” She smiled, a warm and friendly smile. She was a nurse? Or a doctor? Wow. This woman was amazing. Bella smiled in reponse to the woman. “Hey Esme, yeah I think I have met Gabe, he is…” she faltered, making me wonder where she was going with this, but Esme began to laugh.

She didn't have the authority to clear the guards from the southern corridor or doctor the official pack records. "If the child isn't Caomh's," I breathed out, the horrific truth finally snapping fully into place, "then whose is it?" Cullen reached across the desk, picking up a final, sealed envelope from the bottom of the leather binding. He tore the top off and pulled out a genetic marker report. "My spies pulled the scent profiles from the council archives," Cullen said, handing me the crisp sheet of paper. "Esme does not carry the distinct Colson musk. She smells faintly of earth and ash. The distinct scent profile of the Riordan bloodline."

If looks could kill, then Ejima was sure that she would have died from the diviner's gaze. White chalk lined the woman's dark eyes, the Dibia also had that gnostic aura about her.
