“She said Dr. Estelle loves real flowers, not fake.” I pulled a pad of paper toward me and wrote that down. “That’s true. She loves roses and tulips.” “Um…” Lucas squinted at his notebook, flipping a page. “Chloe also said peonies? And she doesn’t like pink ones. She thinks pink roses are boring.” I stopped writing and stared down at the paper. Estelle had always said that pink roses were unimaginative, that anyone could buy a dozen pink roses and call it romantic. She’d loved red roses, cream-colored ones, unusual varieties with ruffled petals that looked like they’d grown wild in some forgotten garden.

I opened the door just a few inches and saw a small cardboard box sitting on the carpet with no name and no return address, so I pulled it inside and opened the lid while the others crowded around me to see what was inside. Resting on a bed of white tissue paper was a single rose made of delicate glass and the stem was broken in half so it looked dead and jagged, and I knew immediately that it was a message from Elena Romano because that rose was the symbol of the investment firm we had burned down in Berlin.

The mingling scents of wine and flowers created a joyful atmosphere. At the edge of the room, Kiara, wearing an elegant burgundy gown, approached Estelle. Her eyes sparkled as she hugged Estelle warmly. “I pray for your happiness, Estelle,” she said sincerely. “You’re so lucky to have Alpha Lennon. He will protect you and keep you happy forever.” Estelle returned the hug. Her lips curved into a smile, but her eyes remained empty for a moment. “Thank you, Kiara. I hope so too.”

She looked like a princess from a fairy tale. "Hadar wouldn't be able to stop himself after seeing you," Istas teased, arranging the flowers. Rosa blushed. If only she knew, just how impatient she was. She couldn't wait to be with him. Her bed had been cold for so long, her heart and body had begun to rebel. But now the drought was finally over. He was coming. "Let's see,' she replied, flashing a sly grin. She wouldn't let him have her so easily. The hairstyle had added to her beauty and not a single hair was out of place. And the flowers were icing on the cake. Rosa was mighty impressed.

Well that's a pretty name for a very pretty girl, as cliché as it sounds, it's the truth, you're a pretty little flower." And the blush that was barely receding was back again.

Sanguis was stunned when he saw that his wife had already changed into her nighties. He gulped when he realized how hot and sexy Estrella was. He smiled innocently while his wife was sitting beside him, "I didn't think you were there already. "Have you already scanned the papers?" Estrella asked while getting the papers on the floor and sipped on her wine. She gasped when Sanguis suddenly kissed her nape. His hands were slowly slipping and he held her shoulders to remove the thin cloth that held her nighties. "Sanguis..." she whispered when his hot kisses touched her neck down to her shoulder.
