Having gone to the first floor, Evelyn returned with several plates of food, intending to serve them to her high-maintenance brother, Landon. She then fetched some cupcakes, which she shared with Ash and Lynn, while waiting for the potato slices to roast. Ash and Lynn held their treats, patiently waiting for Evelyn to finish preparing the potato slices so that they could all eat together. It was then that someone chimed in, "You must be Ms. Harper, right? These two children are so cute."

Evelyn I sat on my bed and dialed the number Theo had given me weeks ago. It rang three times before a gruff voice answered. “Pemberton.” “Mr. Pemberton, my name is Evelyn Cole.
