ASHLEY’S POV “Summer Royal Academy” The sign read. I walked down the path of the sign until I was staring at a big black gate. It had hefty pillars built on the sides and even though it read ‘academy’ at the gate, it could pass for a prison. “Miss, are you lost?” A very hefty man walked up to me from the gate and questioned. I gulped in a wholesome amount of saliva, terrified by the mere size of the man, before attempting to respond to his question.

“She still loves him. And he’s always wanted her back. So when they see each other again, you have to make sure he lets her go after she heals Uncle Cane.” I didn’t answer immediately. I looked at Gunnar. He was silent, but his face was tight, like he was fighting something inside himself. That alone made this worse. “Do you understand me?” Summer asked. “Yes,” I said finally. “I understand.” But just then— The door pushed open hard. All of us turned immediately. Summer reacted first, faster than anyone. “Leslie, move your face!” she shouted. Leslie froze.“What—” “Move now!” Summer yelled again, louder.

"I was never your man Sam..please stop with your delusions." It was how his words were harsh, but somehow, his voice was so collected they sounded like silent jabs. But she did get the message, she turned around to leave, looking back one more time and then coming back for her egg rolls before disappearing out of the doors. I wiped off an imaginary sweat from my brows. " At this point I am sure you know everyone I met here this summer" I joked. " I probably do. We all went to the same high school and even though we are all based in different parts of the world now, summer is still held at Malibu. Always at Malibu. It's like a tradition.

The room melted into a chorus of awws. This is my life now, full of family, laughter, and love. And it all began in a summer like this one, two years ago. Today, another summer has brought me another miracle, and I know in every part of me that there’s no better forever than the one I’ve found here, with Liam and our children. My home. My heart. My happily ever after. Summer will forever be my favorite season.

My throat tightened, and my hand, holding the phone, wouldn't stop trembling. How could this be? Summer Parker and I had known each other for more than a decade.
