Fable Hare And Tortoise Novels & Stories

There were just a few aged ones who wanted her as their 6th wife. She was so angry and lost her appetite day by day. She decided to swallow her pride and go to meet an animal that was banished from the kingdom some years back. "Oh, Vulture? What brings you to my abode?" the old tortoise asked. "You see, I was once the prettiest in the kingdom but a nobody has come from nowhere to snatch my place. I can't tolerate it. I want to be the most stunning in the kingdom once again, even forever. Old tortoise, you are the wisest. What do you suggest?" she asked after dropping the generous gifts she'd brought along with her.

Do not ask questions that have no useful purpose. His fingers tightened around the paper. “These are not rules,” he said quietly. “This is a cage.” Adrian looked almost patient. “A cage keeps danger out.” “It also keeps me in.” “That depends on who holds the key.” Lucas looked at him. “And that is you?” “For now,” Adrian said. “Yes.” Lucas wanted to tear the paper. He wanted to shout he was not a pet. The words rose in his throat, hot and sharp, but they stayed there.

A week after that, she died from her heart condition. "You know, Sister Ely was great at storytelling," "I agree, Sister. She was the best at storytelling. When I met her when I was 18, she told me this story about the Tortoise and the Snail," I giggled, remembering the olden days. "Ah, that's indeed one of her best retellings," "Indeed, Sister. It was one of my favorites," The story took place after The Hare and the Tortoise concluded their race. The old fable conveyed that a determined tortoise defeated the arrogant hare. However, when the tortoise won, it got through its head. It became proud and superior over its victor.

Rufus shook his head fast as if to let the reality of those fables slide from his exhausted mind. He didn’t watch any of the war, nor could he hear any of it from the position he sat, deep in the cavern of the beastmen, at the confluence that led into the narrow tunnel of bones. He sat just out of eyeshot of the writhing twin creatures behind the stone bars. His mind reeled as he studied the creatures and then looked away. In many a night time fable, he’d heard tales of creatures like these, called Uilepheists.

It was not impossible that he would win. Lance bent his elbows, rested on the table and shook Albert's ready hand. This silenced the people who had been whispering to each other. Everyone was silent, waiting for the battle of strength between Albert and Lance. "Give it your all," Albert said intimidatingly. Unfortunately, Albert's words were unable to intimidate Lance. One corner of Lance's lips lifted as he looked into Albert's sharp eyes. He then said, "Sure. I'll do it. Because there is a story about a tortoise beating a smug hare in a running race."

"It’s because," he murmured, his voice soft yet cutting, "the hare underestimated the turtle. She believed the turtle to be slow, stupid, and incapable that she forgot..." he let the words hang, his lips brushing against my skin as he planted a cold kiss on my cheek, "That a turtle is a reptile after all." I trembled, my body frozen as his words sank in. My thoughts raced, searching for a way out of this, a way to break free, but I felt trapped, paralyzed by the weight of his presence.

I SLAMMED OPEN the door of The Forensic Club’s clubroom and found their President on his swivel chair, his elbows on the table, his chin on top of his two hands clasped together, with a smug smile on his lips. “Catherine McKnight and Emmanuel Cagasa, right… meddlesome youngster?” I shouldn’t lose my cool in front of this detective wannabe. I closed my eyes and heaved a sigh. As I opened them again, I planted a smirk on my lips. “It’s fine if you’re one step ahead. I’ve come to tell you that the tortoise will win against the hare, one way or another.” Jacob chuckled. “Since that’s the analogy you want to use, I bet you also know that if we don’t pause halfway, we will surely win the race.”

First: Spinal serum of a Farse Wild Hare. A creature thought extinct in most parts of the world, the Farse Wild Hare only surfaced during lunar eclipses and could sense magical intent. Its spinal serum was said to heighten the clarity of inner transformation magic. A single drop was enough to make any shape-shifter’s body reject toxins embedded in bone or blood. Second: Ashen tongue of a Drelvine Serpent.

Jide strokes his brow, "how can that be, I can't remember calling anyone an Outcast Or pushing them off the cliff because they forgot to greet me properly" Maduka giggled and patted the stone beside him. Jide didn't wait. He took the space, bracing himself for the obvious lecture. "Can a tortoise beget an eagle?" "Impossible." "Good," Maduka nodded and dropped his machete, conceivably satisfied by the shining edges. "Why can't a tortoise beget an eagle?" "Because they are…" Jide shrugged, "different." He has not thought about it before, and even now, the right answer was not forthcoming, however simple the question sounds.

The few people from the Lunula Sect were taken aback. Then, they seemed to understand. “Haha! This one is a bargain!” “The one on its back is the real secret manual! It serves as a remembrance for those who haven’t discovered the secret manual on its back! This tortoise is really kind!” “Unfortunately, those aborigines aren’t here.”
