The prospect of a futile demise was a bitter pill for the beastmen to swallow, a fate they detested and disdained. With little time to ponder, the captain swiftly made his decision. "We must withdraw, abandon these fools to their demise," he declared resolutely. His words echoed with conviction as he issued the command. “They say the Madrigal carries more power than expected.” I stare at him slowly. “And?” “They worry she may—” “Enough.” The word cuts through the chamber like a blade. The captain falls silent instantly. I walk closer until he is forced to lower his eyes. “Do you know what your problem is?” I ask softly.
