Liya hands still holding onto mine as I struggled to control my breathing so I wouldn't pass out. I tried pulling her up but then her hands slipped out of mine and before I could realise what had happened then I motioned grab her hands once more, I saw her falling down to the deepest part of the cliff and there was no sign of the rescue team.

Flames burst outward as the shockwave shook the entire hillside. Loose gravel and jagged stones shifted violently beneath her feet. Winter slipped. The ground gave way beneath her. And she fell over the edge of the cliff.

If not for Wade intervening and pulling him back, he might have already fallen off the cliff. It was almost impossible to descend without specialized equipment.

Being shocked was an understatement. She was battling to live; battling to save herself. Alarmed, I cried, "Celina!" The moment I attempted to grip her arm, her body impelled backwards. Her legs tripped over each other, and like a weak mango tree, she fell off the cliff. Seeing that, my heart stopped for a while. I felt dead. Was this a nightmare? Their home, was closer to the edge of Vermissa, unlike that of their family friend, Joseph and his daughter, Daria, so, it was not a big thing for them to reach the mountains, but to escape it was an obvious impossibility. The wind instantly, took my breath away as I fully felt my feet leave the cliff and began to tumble downwards, a scream leaving my lips but my hands reaching out forward as though it was going to grasp something to save us. On our descent, my hands grasp something sticking out of one of the rocks and in that second, the will to live was never so strong in my life and throwing myself forward, I grasp whatever it was with both hands and hang onto it for dear life. I instantly, smashed into the rock of the cliff but in that moment, I didn’t care, I had stopped myself from falling.

Alex backed up a step and turned around. He let out a loud gasp of panic and he realized now that there was no chance any of their enemies could ever breach the Citadel’s wall here. Just in front of him, the ground suddenly dropped away into a steep cliffside. The cliff dropped so far down that Alex could not see the bottom in the middle of the night. One more step back and he would have fallen right down into the abyss below. The sudden sight scared him so much that could feel his balance faltering.

“I’m not going to go to jail because no one will ever find your body.” With one powerful shove, Bianca found herself falling off the cliff, her terrified scream echoed around the place before being drowned out by the surrounding trees.

She stumbled and fell forward. Right over the edge of the cliff.

As the storm raged on, I embraced the wildness within me, knowing that it would carry me through the darkest of nights. As I made my way towards the cliff edge, I glanced over my shoulder to find three ominous silhouettes drawing nearer to me. I couldn't explain it, but I sensed that my only chance of survival was to take the leap. Peering downwards, I peeped into an abyss where the ground vanished from sight. Turning my gaze back, I realized that the trio of dark figures had dangerously closed the distance. With a pounding heart, I shut my eyes tightly and hurled myself over the edge. The act of plunging off the cliff abruptly jolted me awake, my body instinctively sitting upright in bed.
