Centra’s presence and demeanor said she was there for Clarissa. But she still felt terribly and utterly alone. As if reading her mind, Centra spoke. “Awaken, my dear. Stefan awaits you.” It was night in a dark, ugly city. Poverty and dirt clung heavily to the walls, as the smell of poor hygiene filled her nose. Stefan limped through the city, bleeding and bruised.

By the time Rachel reached the manor, she was hysterical and almost breathless from running. It took some time for Sonja to calm her down and get the whole story from her.
