I pulled it out and lifted it in the air for Katherine to see. “What to Expect: A Book for Expectant Fathers.” Katherine read the title out loud, and a smile graced her beautiful face. “I wanted to be prepared. I did not get to experience this with Erin, but with our new baby, I was willing to ride the tide with you. You are not alone in this pregnancy, sweetie. You have me.”

I muttered under my breath.
