The birdwomen in those pictures looked ugly. Why does Laelia have to look pretty even as a beast? Her wings were so majestic and her hair was gorgeous.

During the heyday of ancient civilizations thousands of years ago, many supernatural beings, including gods, lycans, werewolves, vampires, sorcerers, and other shape-shifters had very strong interactions with each other as well as with ordinary humans. It wouldn't hurt to briefly look around. All I had to guide me were the rumors and myths about the Fae and their realm. The problem with myths, is that you never know what might be real. Myth says the Fae can't lie, but no one has ever been able to prove that. Out of all the legends I knew, there was one fact. Monsters came from this realm, some harboring magic while others had claws, fangs, or poison. All were deadly, and all caused death when they managed to find a portal and cross over. Remembering all of the myths I knew, I suddenly felt very exposed. My eyes darted around the clearing, looking as far into the forest as I could.

The humans’ king, Creon regent of Thebes, paned worshiping him and rejected his divinity. The god of wine and pleasure was offended. How dare they? He was the one who gave them their happiness, so he asked for vergence. And that was when the gods sent their beast. A mighty fox that was one of the monstrous offspring of Typhon and Echidna. A monster that pried on the males’ flesh, a monster that was never meant to die. And the fox wreaked havoc upon the unwary. He was the hand of gods to punish those mortals to put them back in their place.

It was inspirational for a book of myths as protagonists overcame challenges over challenges. Fae rode Draekons, Shapeshifters were powerful creatures and Pixies were tricksters who challenged any kind of hierarchy in the magical world.
