' But Ophelia looked like she wasn't afraid of that mad boy when she followed him into the detention room with a first aid box in her hand. Ophelia looked at Darryl and said, “Come with me.” She slowly walked down the battle stage with Darryl following behind her. They walked to the backstage where Ophelia halted her steps and turned herself toward Darryl. “Are you interested in visiting the Elixir Association?” Truth be told, Ophelia was a marvelous beauty. She was simply flawless from every perspective upon seeing her from such a close distance. She was tall, slim, had slender legs, and an exquisite face. There was not even one imperfection on her. Her maturity was simply alluring with the addition of her slightly curled long hair.

Zephyra saw Ophelia sit down at a small table. An idea struck her as she saw the fae. Ophelia had the gift of foresight. She may have seen something about the animals. “Hey, Ophelia,” Zephyra said, sitting down next to her and then waving at Max, her son. Ophelia said in a singsong voice as she swirled her chair around happily. "Oh my god, this is a n colour on you, and it looks fantastic," Diana had to compliment her. "Oh my, thank you so much," Ophelia said, raising her shoulders and the smile not leaving her face. "Let us get to work though." Ophelia was not sure, but she had a feeling that her dad had a mule who was spying on her and reporting all of the events to him; she had to get to work so she was not seen as lazy.

Their faces, visible in the soft glow of the interior lights, registered a mixture of horror and morbid fascination. Elara let out a slow, low whistle, a wicked gleam in her eye. “Damn, Hannah,” she whispered, nudging her trembling friend. “Never thought our noble Ophelia could be this savage. Who knew she had it in her?” Hannah, her face pale and trembling, finally broke from her paralyzed state. Taking a hesitant step forward, her voice was choked with distress. “Ophelia, stop! You’re hurting her—you’re really hurting her badly!”

Saw them. Froze. Then stood. Slowly. Like she wasn’t sure whether to run or stay. Ophelia’s door was open before the van stopped. She stepped out. Barefoot on cold gravel. Walked forward. Sloane didn’t move. Just watched. Eyes wide. Tears fresh. Ophelia stopped five feet away. Voice soft. Broken. “Sloane.” The name hung between them. Heavy. Hopeful. Sloane’s lips trembled.

Let it grow uncomfortable. Then she asked, quietly but sharply: “What did you do to my mother?” Ophelia frowned. “What? You’re an orphan, right?” “Elizabeth Jane Hudson,” Eloise said. “That’s her name.” Ophelia froze. All the arrogance drained from her face. For a moment, she seemed to forget how to breathe. Then she stumbled to her feet, panic twisting her features. “What—No. No, you’re lying!” “Looks like you knew her well,” Eloise said softly.

Her mother asked with tear streaks running down her face. "I, don't know. But we did our best, honey. She just chose to not take it. And now that she dared hurt her own . . . " He didn't finish the sentence, but rather bowed his head and shook it disdainfully. Ophelia's body shook with excitement. Once she held someone hostage, Orla would come running back home like some kind of savior. So she didn't feel anything at all in her heart when she wrapped both arms around her father's neck and pressed her trusty dagger against his neck. The potion wore off instantly, since it was only useful if she didn't go out of her way to alert people of her presence.
