STONE HEARTED
He tenderly wiped away my tears, his touch comforting amidst the emotional disruption.
"Are you leaving me?" I choked on the words, my heart aching at the thought.
"I would never truly leave you, but I have to go," he managed a weak smile.
"Where are you going?" I inquired, confusion mixing with my grief.
"Up there," he pointed upwards, indicating heaven.
"Please take me with you. I can't imagine a life without you," I pleaded, my desperation evident.
"I can't bring you along. You must continue living without me," he whispered gently, and I began to see him fading away, like mist dispersing with the dawn.
