Fearing Fate

Fearing Fate

Tobias shrugs. “Could be. Or maybe they are trying to scare us, and they are playing with us. Who knows.” Tobias says. He turns to me, and I can help but feel defeated. “We have to treat everything as a threat at this point. We don’t know what this means. And what the hell does this symbol at the bottom of the note mean?” I snatch the note out of Tobias’ hand and stare at the symbol. “I dunno. I’ve never seen anything like it.” Tobias slumps back in his chair.

at first I thought this was going to be the same as all the other stories. dumb main characters with a jealous girl who wants what isn't hers. I was wrong. this book was fantastic. I'm so happy I stuck it out and can't wait until the next book is finished to read.

His Forbidden Truth

His Forbidden Truth

• Especially those. Sophia smiled faintly. “Then begin with a question.” Lumen brightened, swirling with curiosity. • What is fear? She blinked, startled. “Fear?” • Humanity carries it in every frequency. • And yet, you move forward. • Why? Sophia inhaled deeply, searching for an answer that wasn’t simplistic. “Fear is a compass,” she said slowly. “It points to what matters most. We fear losing what we love. We fear failing the people we need. But we keep going because the meaning outweighs the risk.”

The Secret Moonbird, Hellblades Series Part 2 of 3

The Secret Moonbird, Hellblades Series Part 2 of 3

The void closed around us, and cold marble formed beneath my feet once more. She looked at me, with no mockery now. “This symbolizes true courage. Not reckless fearlessness. You took action despite the fear of losing everything. You took a true leap of faith.”

THE VENGEFUL LUNA

THE VENGEFUL LUNA

When he clicked on the sentence, he was taken to another page, featuring the image of a man embracing a weeping woman and a paragraph: Maybe you’ve lost someone to violence, or perhaps you have been the victim of a violent crime. Either way, your life has been altered and a hole has been punched open in your world. Through it comes the most malignant, destructive monster of all: FEAR. More vicious than any violent criminal, more evil than the deeds of any killer, fear will rob you of what’s left of your life. There’s only one way out of the haunted forest: You must go through. You must face what you most fear. We can show you how.

The humans fled, the silver doors slamming shut behind them with a thud that shook the basalt wings of the tower. Leo turned back to me. The sovereign mask didn't slip, but he leaned his forehead against my stone knee, a ghost of the child he used to be. "Mommy," Leo whispered into the silence. "They're still afraid of us. They still look at you like you're a cage." I couldn't answer with a voice. But through the terminal on the armrest, I sent a single pulse of gold light. “Let them fear,” I thought into the network, my consciousness vibrating through the silver links. “Fear is the only thing that keeps the ink from drying.”

EMBRACING THE FORSAKEN LUNA

EMBRACING THE FORSAKEN LUNA

“There’s no way out.” I felt a surge of fear, my heart pounding in my chest. We were stuck, deep underground, with no way to escape. And as I looked at the symbols on the walls, I realized with a sinking feeling that we had triggered an ancient trap. The walls began to close in, the ceiling lowering slowly but steadily. The symbols on the walls started to glow brighter, pulsing with an ominous energy . We were running out of time, and if we didn’t find a way out soon, we would be crushed.

Rejected Luna, Claimed by the Alpha Who Regretted

Rejected Luna, Claimed by the Alpha Who Regretted

she whispered. Of her. Of me. Of what we represented. Kael’s expression hardened. “This is spreading.” Lyra closed her eyes briefly. “This is what symbols do,” she said. I looked at Mira. At the faint silver still glowing in her eyes. At the blood drying at her neck. And I understood something cold and sharp. The next threat wasn’t armies. It wasn’t rogue factions. It was fear. And fear was harder to fight. Kael squeezed my hand once.

Devil, Be Nice

Devil, Be Nice

It was as if the entire forest, once full of vitality, became a desolate wasteland of ice. In the middle of this wasteland was a half-alive boy sitting in lotus position with a little girl touching the crown of his head. This odd and somewhat funny picture might have befuddled most humans, but to those beasts and birds of prey who relied mostly on their instincts to survive... these two children were a symbol of death! Fear! Paralyzing fear! Those who could flee had fled, while those smaller, weaker animals had holed up in their shelters refusing to come out. Not that Yin would bother to spare even a glance at them.

Rejected by my Alpha, Desired by the lycan king

The symbols weren’t just glowing anymore—they were reacting. To me. To my heartbeat. To whatever was waking up inside me. “No…” I whispered, voice shaking. “Stop… stop this…” But it didn’t stop. The second heartbeat surged again—harder this time, more aggressive, like it had been triggered by the words he said. What was sealed… before the world learned how to fear you. That sentence echoed endlessly inside my skull. Fear me? No. That didn’t make sense. I wasn’t something to be feared. I was just—

⸻ Lena nodded. “They’re scared.” ⸻ Back in the system— Aria paused. ⸻ Because that— ⸻ was something she understood now. ⸻ Fear. ⸻ Not as a flaw. ⸻ But as a signal. ⸻ “…Fear indicates uncertainty,” she said. ⸻ Victor nodded. ⸻ “Exactly.” ⸻ A pause. ⸻ “And uncertainty means we don’t know what happens next.” ⸻
