Zev’s POV Fear is a strange thing. It creeps in slow, like a fog at the edge of your vision. You don’t notice it at first—just a weight in your chest, something crawling behind your ribs. Then it wraps around your spine, and you can’t breathe quite right. That’s what I feel now. I’ve heard these stories my whole life. The ones they tell around firepits during long winter nights. Of cursed bloodlines and dark druids. Of the end of the world coming not from war—but from within.

“Look here your character wants to walk away from her lover but she still turns back with longing, you wrote it nice and then you stopped do you know why” I gulped. "Because I ain't sure what comes after that." She nodded slowly. “Or maybe you know, but you don’t want to write it. Maybe you're scared that if the character goes back, you feel like you must do the same in real life.” My heart beat much stronger. “That’s scary. I’m still not sure. If I write a happy ending for them, doesn’t that mean I have to meet the same chance for me?”

“What’s wrong, Nate? You seem troubled.” I hesitated, unsure of how to voice my fears. “It’s nothing, Layla. Just a feeling.” But Layla's gaze was unwavering, her eyes filled with concern. “Tell me, Nate. We’re in this together, remember?” I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what I was about to say. “I fear that our enemies will not rest until they have exacted their revenge. They are cunning and relentless, and they will stop at nothing to see us destroyed.”

*Dust* My heart pounds in my chest, a frantic drumbeat as I instinctively drop the rag, my palms slick with fear. I’m no warrior; I’ve never held any kind of weapon, never learned the art of combat. "Because they are unable to comprehend you." They're scared of what you could turn into," Kai said quietly, his eyes beseeching me. I thought it was a pipe. We followed here on foot. I was terrified as I looked around. I feel that, at any time, someone will suddenly attack us. I'm getting paranoid because of what happened. "Keep your eyes forward. You are creating a greater fear." Cayden commented to me. "I can't help it." Naturally. Yes, I'm a gangster, but I'm not superhuman like these with powers. What do I have against those by any chance? Karate? Judo? Common, I admit to myself that I can't do those alone.

We're talking about real dead bodies here, and just looking at them gives me chills. Damon said nothing more; he remained standing there, observing the various emotions playing across my face. I could sense it. I'm afraid of dead bodies, I fear his pet, and I also fear him. This fear won't exactly help if he wants me by his side. But he needs to understand that I can't suddenly become comfortable with these things. It takes time and understanding, not weakness. Damon's POV
