Dawlya’s Dragon
His form was vastly larger than any Grenon dragon she had seen, larger than anything that should have existed within the atmosphere but he held himself folded, wings partially drawn, body coiled in a way that reduced his silhouette.
Every instinct screamed that he could blot out the sky if he chose. He did not. His scales caught the light like dark glass and old stars. Runes not carved, but grown shifted faintly along his frame, responding to the Circle’s presence without reaching for it.
The Veilkeepers hovered, frozen.
Kael’s breathing was audible now. “Avi… permission to…”
“Hold,” Avi said softly.
Her heart hammered, but the Circle was steady. “This is the one you saw.”
